Hiiii! First off, I want to say thanks for stopping by my blog, I hope you enjoy it almost as much as I do! Well, my name is Marissa Oberling, I live in the city that never sleeps, Las Vegas. I have been able to call this city my home for nearly 28 years, surprisingly I live in a house and not a hotel! I also lived in Portland, Oregon, for 3.5 years while I was studying biology in college. Shortly after college I was back to Las Vegas where my life would change forever.
My husbands name is Matt, him and I had always had a very on and off relationship since 6th grade!!!! We dated in 6th grade, 11th grade, talked in college, then when I moved back from Portland he moved back from Reno and all the stars aligned! We moved in together after two months of dating again, then a month after that…… I was pregnant! We have two beautiful and perfect children. Makenna-Lynn is currently 4 years old, she is the most gorgeous, loving, intelligent, and sassy little girl. Little girls are truly a mothers best friend. We also have our little boy, Matix, he is almost 3 years old (man, time flies)! He is a total boy, he is so tough, loud, and rough, like most boys. He is also the most kind-hearted, sensitive, and loving little boy. Since day one, he has been “my little boy”, he wants mommy for everything. Some say I baby him too much but is there really such a thing? They are only little for once, why not baby them? Makenna was always partial to her daddy but as she is getting bigger she wants mommy a lot more, which I love.
Matt and I have been married for nearly 5 years (wow, that went quick)! When we got married it was just him and I, for us, it was a big wedding or owning a house. We knew that a house was much more important that having a wedding. I always thought I would regret not having a wedding but I never have. That is a big shocker because I love social events, I love getting dressed up, and I love all my family and friends. But with a family, a house was definitely the smarter decision!
I quit my job this year (April 2017) to be a stay at home mommy to my littles. Again, another decision I really thought I may regret. Quitting my job (which was mostly just a summer job at a pool) is the best decision I’ve made in forever, other than marrying my oh-so handsome husband and having our two perfect children! Since I’ve quit our lives have became calm and balanced. Meals are cooked and on the table every night, there is no rushing home to try and throw some food together or grabbing fast food on the way home. Gosh, I truly do not miss those days, I am so happy they are behind me. Since I’ve quit, I have realized I have a lot more free time on my hands, obviously. I love social media, sharing my life, pictures, my day, all of it. That is when I decided to start a blog and here we are now!
